Register for CM FORUM SUMMIT 2016

It is now possible to register for the final event of the year!

Join us in summarizing the past two years of CM Forum! Celebrate the release of CM Forum’s second white paper and take part in the workshop and discussion on this event’s topic:
What’s next for Configuration Management?

We will take part of two case stories – presented by organisations that currently are on a journey, preparing their CM capability for the future: Saab and Tetrapak.

The last workshop of the year will discuss the CM implications of Circular Economy. This concept captures the growing trend of re-using and recycling resources and the shift from selling a product to selling the service the product provides. The premise of the workshop will be that many of the methods and tools required to benefit from the business models in a circular economy already are accessible today within the Systems Engineering and Logistics Engineering domains. Our workshop will discuss what this shift means for CM.

Hope to see you there!

Registration for event no 2 2016 is now possible

We continue this fall with an event at Bombardier on sept 15th,

When responsibility and authority for the configuration management role is ambiguous or unclear, the CM practice is “weakened” in the sense that it becomes reactive, inconsistent across projects, ad-hoc and sometimes reduced to administration.

  • How do you position CM responsibilities in the organisation to establish clear mandates?
  • How do you establish an active ownership of CM that allows for flexibility and participatory decision-making?
  • How do you define the role of the configuration manager compared with the individual responsibility to apply CM practices that lie on each co-worker?

To kick of our discussions, Bombardier will introduce us to their organisation and products and their approach to CM.

CM Forum event no 3 – 2015-09-22 at Volvo CE, Eskilstuna

WLO_L180H_1_11614_01_HWorkshop theme: How can CM support Requirement Management in a product line environment?

When a new generation of a product line is to be developed, the CM challenges usually increase: Current design structures are affected, requirements are added and modified and additional variants and versions of products, subsystems and maintenance concepts will be taken to market. We will dedicate two workshop sessions  addressing how CM can enable adequate structures to support a development project. To give context to our discussion and provide us with very real and tangible examples in relation to this workshop theme, Volvo CE will introduce us to their products and current CM function. Register here.
